FVCC's STEM Experience brings together a community of scholars working toward academic and professional success in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The National Science Foundation funded program and scholarship help guide your STEM journey through up to three years of funding, individualized faculty and mentor support, undergraduate research opportunities, shared experiences and more.
Succeed In Your Field
Successful applicants get the direction and support to develop within their chosen STEM field.
- Exploration - Explore careers in STEM, transfer options to the four-year university of your choice and undergraduate research opportunities to elevate your skills and knowledge to help achieve your goals.
- Support Network - One-on-one faculty mentorship and individualized support from advisors at every step. Build relationships with your STEM network working together toward your success.
- Guaranteed Classes - Core Experience (COLS 107) community seminar and STEM Literacy and Research (LS 151) to help you build a transfer plan both develop the skills to be successful in STEM fields. STEM Experience students are guaranteed a schedule to complete their requirements.
Qualifications to Apply
- Interest in exploring STEM programs and plan to transfer after FVCC
- Enrolled as a full or part-time Associate of Science degree seeking student
- Meet financial qualifications of the scholarship portion of STEM Experience
- Be citizens of the US, nationals of the US, aliens admitted as refugees under section 207 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, or aliens lawfully admitted to the US for permanent residence
