STEM Colloquium: Probability and Decisions – Bayesian Thinking Applied to Life and Science

October 18 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Join us for this week’s STEM Colloquium for “Probability and Decisions – Bayesian Thinking Applied to Life and Science” a presentation by Mike Severino, PhD, Professor of Mathematics at FVCC.

In the 18th century Thomas Bayes gave us a framework for assigning probabilities. His method encompasses the scientific method by constantly updating priors after experience. We will discuss how to leverage Bayes’ ideas in the modern world.
