FVCC Faculty & Guest Artists Recital
February 27 @ 7:00 pm
The FVCC Music Program presents an evening of musical enjoyment featuring FVCC faculty and guests!
Performing will be Professor Kyara Nelsen on solo violin. Nelsen serves as the concertmaster of the Butte Symphony Orchestra, directs the Great Falls Youth Orchestra, and maintains a growing private violin/viola studio at both FVCC and in Missoula. Also performing will be FVCC’s vocal and piano faculty, Professor Amy Beth Chisholm (soprano), Professor Nicole S. Sanford (soprano) and Professor Eunhwa Park (piano). Chisholm, Park, and Sanford will be performing works by Henry Purcell.
Alongside these instructors will be FVCC instructors Professor Josh Forke on trombone and Professor Matt King on tuba. Forke and King will be performing as part of a brass ensemble called The Stillwater Brass, which also features Yaphet Jones on trumpet, Michael Borenson on trumpet, and Greg Notess on horn. The Stillwater Brass is a professional brass quintet comprised of local performers and music educators committed to bringing high level performances to the communities of Kalispell, Whitefish, Columbia Falls, Bigfork, Lakeside and the broader Flathead Valley in Montana. Performing works by Bach, Ewald, Gabrieli, Holst and McKee among many others, the Stillwater Brass is committed to giving vibrancy and life to the standard brass quintet repertoire while also seeking out other high quality arrangements and originals written for this great instrumentation.
