STEM Colloquium: The Synthesis of Lactose Functionalized Dendrimers

Join us for this week’s STEM Colloquium for “The Synthesis of Lactose Functionalized Dendrimers”, a presentation by Alisa Phattharaampornchai, FVCC 2024 Alumni.

This project studies how a protein called galectin-3, which is found in many cancers, interacts with carbohydrates. Scientists are creating special molecules called glycodendrimers, which have lactose attached to them, to see how galectin-3 binds to these molecules. They will use advanced techniques to analyze and understand these interactions better.
