FVCC’s Website Redesign Project Earns Two Prestigious Awards
Flathead Valley Community College’s new website recently earned two prestigious awards for the comprehensive website redesign and development the college completed in summer 2022.
The website redesign was led by San Francisco Bay Area-based design firm, Project6 Design, in partnership with the FVCC website administration team.
The first award of “Best in Show” came from the 17th Annual w3 Awards presented by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, for which the FVCC website was selected out of more than 3,000 entries from all over the country. Factors such as ease of use, navigation, visual design, functionality, and creativity are part of the considered criteria for earning a w3 award.
Project6 Design was presented with the coveted award for their work with FVCC’s entire website overhaul.
“Project6 was an outstanding team to work with to redesign our FVCC website. Their professionalism, expertise, and ability to work with all areas of campus to create a site that really represents our organization was incredible,” said Allison Linville, FVCC Executive Director of Marketing & Communications and project manager for the website redesign.
“Our stakeholders at FVCC established our goals of improving the user experience, increasing student accessibility, and showcasing FVCC offerings to the community, and Project6 stayed committed to these institutional goals throughout the entire redesign effort.”
The International Awards Associate presented the second accolade, a Silver MUSE Award, at the 2022 MUSE Creative and Design Awards. Received for the redesign and development of FVCC’s entire website, Project6 took home the award out of more than 6,000 entries from around the world. Judging criteria to earn a MUSE Award include creativity and concept, functionality and innovation, impact and memorability, and visual design.
Esten Sesto, Project6 Design President, expressed the firm’s delight in earning two awards with the FVCC project. “We’re honored to accept these awards, especially for ‘Best in Show.’ They reflect our commitment to excellence in design within the education sector,” said Sesto.
Project6 Design created a case study on their work to outline the problem, solution, and result achieved with the FVCC project. As experts in the education industry paired with first-hand knowledge from a wide variety of FVCC user groups, the resulting website exhibits a user-friendly, accessible, and now award-winning design.
Launched in June 2022, the website is a thoughtful representation of the diverse offerings at FVCC. Users can easily navigate through programs, services and events, and are able to reach out directly to FVCC staff for program or college information. The entire website’s focus is to be a resource for all: students, community, and staff alike.
